Turtles/Turbos are a group of mature adults riding on Tuesday and Thursday mornings
during the spring, summer and autumn months under the auspices of Gateway Council-Hosteling International
http://www.moonlightramble.com/.
The group has no officers, and ride leaders volunteer as needed. Ride leaders select the route
for each ride and a schedule of rides is presented on this website as links to the master schedule
on the Hosteling International Website http://www.moonlightramble.com/. Descriptions for each ride are given.
Rides are organized to ride from around 9 AM until noon when we have a lunch stop.
Sometimes there is a short ride after lunch to get back to the start place where people have left their cars.
Turtles generally try to avoid hilly routes, and ride an average of 25-30 miles. Rides are geared to a leisurely pace
taking a water/rest break approximately every five miles.
Turbos ride greater distances, at a faster pace, and sometimes over hillier terain than Turtles.
Turbos tend to ride about 10 miles further than Turtles usually over a variation of the same route Turtles are taking.
When we can work it out, we try to get to the same place for lunch and about the same time.
Self-sufficiency is appreciated, but there is almost always someone
available to change a tire and make minor mechanical repairs and adjustments.
Bring money for lunch!
Come join us!
